Sorting & Grading
Grading is the sorting of vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour, and volume to fetch high prices in the market.
Agricultural products are graded based on their dimensions and quality. This grade is used to sort them and assign them to different sales channels. JJCS has the necessary space and infrastructure required for Sorting and Grading of Fruits and Vegetables.

Carbon Dioxide Control
Most fresh fruits and vegetables (specifically potatoes) exhale Carbon Dioxide (Co2), which may become the reason for the rotting of produce stored in the cold storage. Hence, it is very critical that Co2 PPM (Parts Per Million) levels are constantly monitored and maintained below certain thresholds, to ensure that the product maintains its freshness for a longer duration. This is achieved by exhausting the Co2 from the chambers and then replacing it with fresh air. This is particularly critical for the Chips variety of Potato to avoid sugar from developing in it. This sugar can turn the Potato chips red.
All our chambers are equipped with the facility to accurately sense, monitor, exhaust and replace Co2 with fresh air to ensure that the Table Potato, Seed Potato and Chips Potato can be stored fresh till they are consumed. This facility allows us to maintain freshness of fresh fruits and vegetables stored in our cold chambers.

Humidity Control
Humidity is very critical for both fresh and dried products. Fresh fruits and vegetables often require humidity in excess of 90% while dry products like grains, pulses, jaggery, tamarind, dry fruits, spices, vegetable seeds etc require humidity around 70-75%. We have the ability to maintain humidity, or dehumidify as per product requirements. We also segregate products as per their temperature and humidity needs. This is our speciality and the Vision of our cold storage. We maintain continuous checks and controls for humidity in each chamber to ensure preservation of the product at its best.

Stock Management
A lot of food products need to be stored for a longer duration, especially during transportation and distribution to prevent losses after production. This is where the Cold-Storage industry comes in. A cold storage helps to maintain the quality of products and slows down the rate of deterioration, which results in a longer storage life. At JJCS, we maintain accurate records such as inward, outward, allotting of lot numbers to inward items, assigning each lot to specific floors, chambers and racks. Thus, we have a very robust Stock Management System which allows the quick identification of customers’ lots, resulting in efficient loading and unloading.
